The laptop looks like it came from a UFO, and its “Alienware” features are true to form. The laptop has a 17-inch screen, and it’s not the smallest or lightest gaming device on the market right now. But the Alienware X17 R1 is hard to ignore because of how it looks. If you’re not sure which laptop it is, there’s a big “17” written in big letters on the top. The laptop’s body is white and looks like metal. The laptop has an Alienware logo on the back that lights up and changes colors.

The laptop also has an RGB keyboard. The thin bezels around the screen are wider than on some other gaming laptops, but they don’t take away from the overall look.

The Alienware X17 R1 definitely has the coolest design of any laptop on the market. On the back of the laptop, Alienware has added air vents and ports. But because of how it’s made, the back of the laptop gets very hot, making it hard for people to carry it by the back alone. The laptop is also too big and heavy to carry around. Because it has a 17-inch screen, which is great for gaming, and high-quality parts inside, this laptop weighs 3 kilograms (6.6 pounds) and can’t be taken anywhere.
DISPLAY
The 17.3-inch FHD+ panel on the Alienware X17 R1 has a refresh rate of up to 360Hz. Because of how quickly it responds, the screen is great for gamers. This laptop can run Full-HD games at a smooth 120 frames per second. Even though the screen is responsive and bright, the resolution is too low for a device of this quality and price. Even though both laptops were in the same price range, the detail on the Asus ROG Zephyrus M16’s display was much better than that on the Alienware X17 R1’s. I was able to see this difference because I tested two high-end gaming laptops at the same time. The ROG Zephyrus M16 has a very clear screen compared to other laptops.
The Alienware X17 R1’s screen is more responsive and has better image quality and sharpness. During my test, I was able to get over 100 FPS with the Alienware X17 R1. It is one of the few laptops that can run games at high refresh rates even when on battery, unlike the Asus ROG. Overall, it’s a great screen with great response times. The buyer can choose between a responsive display and a detailed display because the refresh rate is higher and the resolution is lower.
Time And Energy Management
The Alienware X17 R1 performs much better than the other laptops on the market. The system we got had an Intel Core-i7 chipset from the 11th generation, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 GPU with 8GB VRAM and 32GB of RAM, and an Nvidia HBM2 memory controller. During the time I had it, the laptop was a powerhouse. As I said before, the Alienware X17 R1 could run all of the most demanding games on the laptop with the highest graphics settings and a high frame rate (exact numbers vary according to content on screen).
Since the laptop was made for gaming to begin with, it makes sense that it focuses more on that function. Users can even speed up the GPU and CPU to get the most out of their laptops. Even though the Alienware X17 R1 can perform so well, it does so at the cost of getting too hot. Even though it was a gaming laptop, this one got way too hot to use while playing games on the lap. When I tried to play the light game Cricket 2022 on my laptop while it was on my lap, the laptop got too hot and I couldn’t do it for more than 2 minutes.

But the FHD resolution of the screen and the bulky size of the laptop makes it hard to use on the go. Also, if you use it for work, the battery will die faster than on many other phones. But the Alienware X17 R1 is the coolest-looking laptop in this price range, but there are better gaming laptops out there.
